KAWS, FAMILY (2021).

SFMOMA hopes to boost foot traffic by staging KAWS’ first West Coast exhibition.

SFMOMA will stage “KAWS: Family” this fall, a sweeping survey of the pop-art provocateur’s 30-year career that includes his collectible merchandise, mass-culture mashups, and monumentally melancholic sculptures. The museum, facing lagging attendance post-pandemic, is betting that the artist’s mass following and cross-genre appeal—from streetwear to Sotheby’s—will translate into ticket sales.

A new round of layoffs and a warehouse closure will affect almost 1,000 Saks Global employees.

Saks Global will cut nearly 1,000 jobs as it shutters a Tennessee warehouse and trims its corporate workforce. The move follows mounting financial strain from its Neiman Marcus acquisition, vendor dissatisfaction, and rising debt obligations as investors demand steeper returns.

Carolina Herrera ups the ante on destination fashion shows with its Spring 2026 show headed to Madrid.

Wes Gordon will unveil Carolina Herrera’s Spring 2026 collection in Madrid this September, marking the label’s first main-season show outside New York. The move builds on a growing tradition of global presentations and deepens Gordon’s creative dialogue with the Spanish capital, where the house has previously engaged with local artists and institutions.

The Serpentine has named Cate Blanchett a co-host of its 25th anniversary summer party.

Cate Blanchett will co-host the Serpentine’s 25th anniversary summer party on June 24, becoming the first artist to hold the role alone. The event will spotlight Marina Tabassum’s new Serpentine Pavilion and convene a cross-disciplinary mix of guests to celebrate the institution’s influence across art, architecture, and culture.
